From July to October we have a load buzzing noise outside made by these creatures called Cicadas. I am sure they are common in Spain as well as other warm Mediterranean countries. They make a really loud noise, well the males do, and when approached become silent. Other than seeing one on a wall or other surface it is rare to see one. they tend to like trees and cannot be seen easily.
Not exactly colourful or even good looking but I suppose female Cicadas would disagree. One of our cats catches them and brings them indoors still making their buzzing sound. We take them off the cat and throw them in the air so he cannot get to them and away the fly unharmed. Not so the other cat who sees them as a tasty snack.
For proof for @flamingirl for the #macrophoto-challenge here is a further image of the same creature.
Another proof with the image on the camera before I turned it around.

Thanks very much. Lucky also as it was sitting on the wall of a house as we walked past.
