Pitcher plant - Monkey Cup

in macrophotography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Pitcher plant, nepenthes, or Monkey Cup is a Carnivorous plant mostly found in tropical areas. I shot this one at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. I don't normally play with colors in my macro shots, but I decided to give this one some color colors.

Every time I see a carnivorous plant it take me back to this old movie I saw as a kid where a giant plant was eating people. Thankfully this plant can only eat insects.
