Dragonflies are insects that belong to the order Odonata. The Odonata order has two sub orders, namely Anisoptera and Zygoptera. Anisoptera is a group of dragonflies that we usually see in the surrounding environment, while Zygoptera are generally known as needle dragonflies because they are very small and slender and resemble needles. Anisoptera has the characteristics of fused eyes, flies quickly and high, wings are always open, and is relatively large in size. Zygoptera have the opposite characteristics of Anisoptera, namely eyes separated, flying slowly and low, wings closed when perched, and relatively small size.

The difference is that butterfly insects experience complete metamorphosis, while dragonflies do not, or only experience incomplete metamorphosis. Starting from an egg then becoming a larva and finally becoming an adult dragonfly that can fly beautifully.
