~ Fungi Friday Mushroom Hunt ~
So the sun did finally come out today! So what did I do with my sunshine? I went Mushroom hunting! It was above freezing today here in this part of Sweden and the snow was melting away, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to see if any Mycological life was springing up from under that freshly melted blanket of snow.
When we go for our walks... it's common to bring Betty, our dog. If anything Betty usually slows me down from getting the perfect shots every time!
Rachel, on the other hand, is the most helpful cat I have met so far. She loves to hunt for Mushrooms with me on our walks. Most of the time she just stalks me as I do most of the hunting!
I have to say though, there is something about taking your Cat for a walk that is very amusing! The image below is her leading the way into the forest!

I left out about as many shots as I have in this post, which is a bunch! I really like the next three images. These were the first three shots I took in the forest. I love this hatching acorn in this first image below!
Don't be fooled by those decomposing leaves on the top of the stumps and moss. Not all is what it appears to be!

~ Fungi Finder ~
Rachel diligently searches for more Fungi Fun as she leads the way deeper into the forest. Don't be fooled... she LOOKS TO BE much busier and more helpful than reality could dictate. I couldn't help to add her into this contribution for the sake of her's this #FungiFriday!
I think she has spotted a target!~ Fungi Finding Stumped ~
Clearly, this isn't the best time to find any Fungus Among Us. Of course, it can be found all around... but you really have to look hard to see what there is to see! I will show you what I mean.
Let's take a closer look!
~ Fungal Bumps on Stumps ~
Here, is mostly a series of shots that had these two Bracket fungi growing on the top of an old dead tree. The cool part was how the moss had overgrown the little polypores! Check out how the moss has also pulled away some of the old dead bark as well.
I really like how this moss has overgrown the stump and the little brackets! It kind of reminds me of the Stephen King farmer character on Creepshow 1.
These next two images are of some Fungi which are dying or dead and withered. I thought they looked pretty cool. That snow and ice did a number on these two!
~ HardCore Polypores ~
Good News/Bad News!

Rachel hasn't given up the hunt yet and some of the Polypores are looking marvelous! Oh, and the sun was shining. That's some pretty good news!
~ Bad News ~
Not all of our HardCore Polypores made it through the Winter alive! Looks like that snow and ice was just more than these Fungi could bear! Here is for our fallen fungal commrades!
I took all of these photos with a Nikon CoolPix S4300Well, Rachel was pretty devastated about our fallen friend, so we decided to call it a day! At least the fungal fellow hasn't hit Rock Bottom yet! He is hanging on by a few threads at least. I will keep y'all posted on his condition... should it worsen!

Yeah, you can't take good shots easily walking the dogs, at least I can't, even walking my old dog stresses me as he goes away while I try and focus the image because he is free to move. A car may come on the path so I'm not relaxed when shooting.
Walking cats it's another story. I had some of them and they loved coming with dogs and many times they loved to join us. Some of the people who we met kept astonished by the picture of dogs and "cat-dogs" walking together hahahha.
Well you made a whole compendium of your walk, ha!. I enjoyed a lot the report and shots as always but laughed out loud at the final sentence "I will keep y'all posted on his condition... should it worsen!", lol
Keep up the funny mood my friend, love seeing you going out and about and enjoying life at every step.

Thanks Draker for taking the time to read the whole compendium and appreciate my humor. I think your "cat-dogs" sound like Rachel would fit in with your pack. I know what you mean about the old dog though. Gotta be careful to get the most life out the older ones!
Back in Texas, my old cat Pumpkin used to walk with me and my old dog Max just like you all. It still astonishes me when I get to walk a cat.

Oh man... I know its a Fungi day, but Rachel beats it all :D What a cool cat you have! Don't you think that she might think she is a dog?
And those fungi that look like leaves... so awesome! Never saw ones like that.

I thought those leaf looking ones were awesome too! I actually went to take the photo because of the light passing through the leaf. Once I got close, the leaf was not a leaf. I got fortunate on that one!
Rachel is the best... and she does act like a dog on walks. Just one that won't listen or be leashed! hahaha I had a feeling you were going to appreciate her role today. I told you I got a little help from my friends.

I was looking into Qurator after you mentioned it... and found one of you posts with links. I was reading up. I think I had considered it before when I was much newer and got confused with the tiers and details. I understand much more now.. and it does seem like an awesome community. I will be saving up for 4 Steem and throw my name in the hat! Thanks for suggesting it. From what I read it sounds right up my alley! I will give them a Witness vote for support either way!

Looks like it was a lovely morning to take a walk. I love your pics and especially your cat - I have one that comes round the farm with me too - if I get too far away she yeowls loudly till I call and she catches up lol.
