Macro Thursday

As today is Thursday, I am going to throwback to a couple of Macroshots i have done over the years. Most of them are insects or flowers and all of them where shot with the Canon 100mm 2.8.

I like Macrophotography because it gives you insight in a smaller world. I really would love to go deeper into this field, but havent´s had time to really get into stacking and all.

This beetle was about the size of a small rat :) Just kidding, but this little beetle was so big, you probably couldn´t call it macrophotography anymore. Him and his 2 mates had landed in the swimming pool of the house I stayed in. They couldn´t get up steep sides. After I rescued them from certain death, the took their time to get all the water of them. It took this one about 20 minutes to be satisfied with the cleaning and drying process...

I will leave you with some form of fly. I don´t know what it is and never was able to find out exactly what this one does. What it did was hide from torrential rain in my car. So it had to accept the fact, that I was taking photos... It´s quite difficult to take photos of a fly, that doesn´t want to sit still. Especially with a 100mm lens where the slightest movement takes everything out of focus...

As I said, I am not yet into photostacking. And photostacking with live objects is pretty damn hard anyway to get the "models" to sit still for any amount of time :)
