Macy’s CEO says stores are important to the business even if they’re going to shrink

The retail sector is changing. Amazon completely disrupted this industry to the point where most companies are trying to establish an online presence.

Macy's is one of the most well known brands in the United States.

According the CEO, physical stores are going to see a reduction in size. This only makes sense with the sales per square foot on the decline. Since there is no way to increase the revenue side, expenses need to be cut.

The CEO does believe stores, even if smaller, are still very important.
