Magician Dominic Reyes talks about how to have the confidence to walk up to people to show them magic tricks
The Secret is that too much thought at that moment of introduction is your enemy. A lot of beginners greatly fear the initial moment of introductions. Will I get rejected? Will they even pay attention? Will I freeze? Those doubts go over time (Although a little stage fright isn't a bad thing) but until you get used to the feeling. Just put your thoughts to one side, walk up to a group.. Smile, Introduce yourself and tell them there's something they really need to see...
That's it.. Job done.
I hope that helps any of you who have been struggling with nerves about introducing yourself. I work with a lot of magicians I coach at the magic shop, and it's the number 1 fear, when they get to the stage of being ready to perform their work for the public.
Wishing you the best with your magic
Dominic
