Olorin was an Istar who was sent to middle earth at the beginning of the third age to guide and aide the free people in their fight against Mairon, also known as Sauron. He was sent in the for of Gandalf the Grey, who later on would become Gandlaf the white. During the third age, Olorin joined Thorin and his company to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug, convoked the Fellowship of the Ring to destroy the One Ring, and led the Free Peoples in the final campaign of the War of the Ring.
