I think this is worse than what the court in Colorado did.

They at least had a real hearing. Here a single public official decides who is going to be on the ballot. Seriously? I mean I know that the Democrats are running as the pro-democracy party but what is democratic about having public officials take members of the opposite party off the ballot.

I know some of my liberal friends will come rushing to defend this but I ask you to reconsider your defense. I see no defense of having an official unilaterally decide that a member of the opposition party cannot be on a ballot that does not violate the values of democracy. Just think about if a Republican did this and how you would react.

I was hot and heavy on my Christian friends who touted morality as a criterion for political leadership under Clinton but then voted for Trump. This is just as hypocritical. So just as moderates and independents have every reason to believe that conservative Christians really do not support moral issues, support for this type of action can justifiably lead on to believe that Democrats do not really believe in Democracy. I hope that the SC overturns this soon with a 9-0 decision.
