Makemesmile : My first experience as a mentor

Let's join Week 16 Make me Smile by @elizacheng. Thank you for the initiative.

This is the first time i stepped out of my comfort zone to become mentor for a class. It is the first formal training for New beauty consultant in Mary Kay. Essential steps to reach success《ESRS》. I always think i am not good enough, so it really took me a lot of courage to accept the challenge by my senior Gel to teach. At the same time i also challenged her to teach in Chinese for the first time!

As usual i couldn't sleep well for a few nights as i was really nervous. I must admit i am really not good in public speaking. During University time, i think the only time i did presentation on my own was the final year project presentation.

The training was on Saturday, it was a small class with 6 students. When we started setting up for the training, we realized there is no projector. I am kind of disappointed because without projector it is hard for the students to concentrate. As a mentor we must be able to switch our mind to positive side, so we still continue the training as usual by sharing a small laptop :)

My senior did the opening and i covered the first and second module. We also have a Sales Director Canris observed our class, and she helped to teach a small part of mine. So blessed! She was a experienced beautician, she is the best person to teach skin care knowledge. She is so pretty right? Can you imagine her daughter is 20 years old already! So women do beauty business is the best investment, because you can hardly guess our age when we grow old! haha

Of course our mummy Gel was so happy! In Mary Kay when a sales director developed another sales director under her, she become senior sales director and we are so called her offspring babies! so she have 2 babies with her grooming new beauty consultants.

After 8 hours class and they were graduated! So happy this batch of beauty consultants all are very attentive and pay full attention in class. I am so happy they all learned a lot and went home with smile on their face! They are not beauty consultants under us, but we still spend our 8 hours time on Saturday to groom them. This is the Go give spirit that we all hold in Mary Kay. Give without expecting for returns:)

This is my first time as a mentor, definitely a day that i will never forget. I will carry on Mary Kay Ash mission to enrich more women life in the future! i love to see the smile on their face after attending our class.

今天再一次参加@elizacheng的Makemesmile活动。我想分享我第一次当导师的经验，这次教的课是枚琳凯公司培训新顾问的一天《星星相惜》培训。接受老师Gel的挑战教这堂课真的需要很大的勇气，但我也挑战了老师第一次以中文教这堂课。我一直觉得自己不够好，所以不敢踏出第一步去培训新美容顾问。这一次算是豁出去了，当然我也失眠了几天。如果你有读过DISC性格分析，我是一个C的人。非常跟着规则走，也非常完美主义者，非常害怕范错。

早一小时到课堂准备，发现没有放映机，有点小失望但也很快条理好心情教课。一共六个学生，我们就利用一台电脑而已。还好学生都很听话，也很专注上课。老师先破冰然后我才开始第一节课，因为我是个比较冷静不太热情的人。当天也有另一个督导Canris一起上课。她帮我教了一段皮肤知识，大家都受益不浅。因为她是非常有经验的美容师，特别有说服力。你相信她的女儿已经二十几岁了吗？所以女人投资美容事业绝对不会亏，因为当我们老了人家都很难猜出我们的年龄。

当天我们的老妈老师当然最开心，因为有两个宝宝跟她一起教课。身为导师有一天学生也变成了导师你觉得这不是最开心光荣的事吗？学生们上了八个小时课 都学了很多东西 大家都带着微笑回家。这是多么令人满足的事啊！她们都不是属于我们的美容顾问但是我们都不分彼此的无私分享，和摆上我们的周末八小时的时间。这就是枚琳凯乐施精神，帮助别人不要求回报。这是我的第一次，也是我永远不会忘记的一天。感恩自己愿意给自己一个成长的机会，同时也帮助别人成长。我希望我可以一直这样坚持下去 帮助更多女性成长。
