Cities as we know them may not survive climate change, or bankruptcy. Just as many mining towns in the past they were built in the wrong place for the wrong reason. Most futuristic movies portraying huge layers of vertical streets with flying cars are a nightmare, not fantasy.
The corrupt building sector in an effort to maintain the fantasy of “Modernity” has invented several scams; the nonstop campaign for “Smart city” to increase false security and surveillance technology. The stingy office owners want to rent office space but, with the threat of virus galore now fine, nobody that will risk the dwindling health of overfed inefficient workers, training them is no longer a good investment. In another attempt to pimp up decrepit urban greed, a hilarious notion has been injected into the flip flopping middle aged, they call it “Neuro Architecture” and claim to be innovating construction design. When it is nothing more than decorating the boring minimalist tendency that has flooded every county to erase local culture… Forty years of blandness succeed in making most cities and small towns indistinguishable from each other. And now these same people pretend to tell architects “Beauty” is important. Too little too late, nobody can give what they do not have, first they need an authentic conscience, not just a set of geometrical rules.
The other thing most conceded brats lack is sophistication and inspiration, all true artistry is an expression of unmet needs thus the poor rich kids have had all their needs met, which inclines them to steal from others, to hire ghost designers, the same group of scoundrels set up firms with each of the other unscrupulous to partake of land grab industry and collude to lower costs to the minimum and inflate prices to the maximum! Knowing full well, that no one will scrutinize or find the proof of their misdeeds. This is how a lot of the waste from mining companies (and oil drilling) got into our lives. In the eighteen century wall paper had so much arsenic in it that it killed people who silently died in their homes poisoned by the stylish decor of the rooms they rented. Now with fifty years of plastic wrapped up in “disposable convenience” people find themselves drowning in garbage, but not the rich they bury it and then build “condos” on the land fill and sell them with loans from banks that always gain beyond anyone’s imagination, and when the toxic fumes start to make people sick, the pharmaceutical will sell you the snake oil (yet another fraudulent concoction) while you die you can start buying a casket in small easy payments.
None of this is new, selling or getting us to part from our hard earned savings is the only game scoundrels want to play and need everyone to love it! So prevalent are these notions that most people cannot distinguish quality of life from “consuming”, it is a cult and a deadly cult too. For millennial these very incompetent people pay artist to embellish their foolishness, to inspire the gullible and innocent to sacrifice their lives unconditionally in exchange for trinkets and diplomas. Artists have been complicit in producing lavish images of that promulgate war, while betrayed and enslaved over and over again. How those who escape from the scams are hunted down and executed publicly for the crime of being honest.
Has anyone ever asked why men and architects worship high rise buildings? Why waste so much money on office space? Those high rise buildings serve to shield the vulture’s capitalism part of a calculated deception, in their sphere of over the top cockiness and rivalry one life span is not enough they need to leave a legacy in magnitude is what they conceive, covered with “art” as token of sensitivity, when they are ruthless and soulless to the core.
The “words” formulated and imposed by shiny advertisements or whatever media is available including our “dumbphones” is a means to hide the truth, to limit our freedom and destroy our health. Cities can be easily paralyzed by a one magnetic storm, multiple power shortages, setting homes on fire with tornadoes, earthquakes all agents of chaos, the structural damage to buildings due to excessive cold or the rise of hot temperatures stay hidden until a catastrophe renders them useless. Let’s be prepared and work for a decent place that is viable and renewable.
The fact is that cities are a *“PsyOps”, all throughout history, the typical form of psychological domination was manufactured placing a marker (or Branding) to remind others of its “Presence”. At first it was a tribute to an elder or loved one that passed a heartfelt altar, a keepsake or symbol was designed to commemorate the life or work, but ultimately the widow or man or women used that token and reminder to manipulate the children or /and the community. The abuse of that symbol developed into an instrument of torture, the underling motive is nothing more than control, narcissistic people with strong parasitic tendencies using emotional extortion to subjugate people. Thus the church, a place of worship, the notion of meaning is missed as well. Places such as mountains, rivers, valleys were also mystified, the semantic perversion gave way to a preconceived character or “Persona” with a specific role to towns and cities.
Many times a visitor perceives things differently than the people born in that place. A bit of what they saw there, returns with them to their hometown, and might even reproduce it at a different scale or emulate. Architectural “Styles” traveled without the significance, landscapes and surroundings can affect human behavior, we can evoke many feelings, while eroding the original meaning. Such our current urban settings, until we become accustomed to a certain place the degree of comfort attained and a perfect example of artificial environment depicted in a movie is “Truman Show” or “Edward Sisorhands” where the main character begins to question and address the artificiality of total immersion.
This story of artificially manipulating perception and sensations is also conveyed in *video games, the shooting and indispensability of everything in the game creates habits, those habits just like “styles” also travel with us, especially if they are children, the misinformation, distortion and addiction to adrenaline can hinder young men who may have difficulty relating to each other, without comparing themselves or competing, and it is not that women won't also act like bratty monsters.
Building trust and uniting for a cause is enough to create the synergy, we use to call it nesting. Our *urban landscape, is devoid of livability while we are watched by the invisible enemy, in an environment that does not unite, but divide demolishing morality, suspicion rises and blocks the efforts to build a a child's sense of community.
What is worse is the self-appointed authorities the obligatory monetary worship and instrument of extortion. The city planners see nothing from a human perspective, it is from the transportation initiative All are part of the smart cities “PsyOps”.
