Happy Tuesday friends!! Are you ready to see the products featured in May's box?

box may 18 1.jpg

The first items were a set of brushes from Aesthetica.

The large face brush is worth $27 and the pro eye set is worth $45. The reason you see the large brush up against a blush brush is because I wanted to show you what I wasn't liking about it. The blush brush you see is the longest blush brush I own and the Aesthetcia is quite a bit longer. The length makes it hard to control the powder product and it's too long to have enough density to use it on a cream product. So I'm not too thrilled with the face brush.

The pro eye set worked a lot better for me. I like the eye liner brush, it's nice and fine tipped. The angle brush is ok, I prefer smaller angle brushes, but that's a personal opinion. I think that is determined by your eye shape and size. And then you have the spoolie brush and to me all spoolie brushes are the same. I have yet to find a spoolie brush I didn't like, but to be honest, I have yet to tell a difference in between the ones that I own.

Our next item is the Cover FX Blurring primer.

The price on this bottle of primer is $38. My face is very picky when it comes to primers. It didn't do too well with this one. I did see it blur the pores some and I was very happy about that, but this has that silicone feel to it and primers that feel like that will make my makeup slide off of my face within a couple hours.

Okie, dokie, let's talk about the Beauty Creations Long Wear Matte Lipgloss in Kiss Me.

I love this color!! I find this to wear quite nicely actually. It's very rich in color, the staying power is really nice and it's not too uncomfortable to wear. I don't think it's AS comfortable as the Physician's Formula Healthy Lip but I think it stands up nicely right underneath it. The price on this one is $10.

Well, they did it again....they put in more Pur Cosmetics. I think I must be the odd ball in the bunch. I just don't like Pur Cosmetics. They don't work for me. And unfortunately it was the same again this time with their sculpting pallet. This goes for $30.

The highlights are very beautiful and full on pigment and shine. I actually love these two highlight colors as eye shadows. To be honest, I like the highlight shades better than all of the other Pur eyeshadows I have ever tried. :/ But the contour colors were not working out for me. They were a bit powdery on my skin and they were patchy and muddy looking. I looked at the reviews from others who used this pallet and it has been raved about, so I am thinking it might just be my skin with Pur Cosmetics.

Lastly is the Pretty Vulgar Ink Gel Eyeliner pot which retails for $22. You have heard me say it time and time again, Pretty Vulgar absolutely KILLS it with their packaging. I don't need to like this eyeliner, it's too cute to even use. But I did for the sake of my readers...

How much cuter can this ink pot be? Well, I guess I do need to talk about the formula. I feel it's just like the Maybelline Studio Lasting Finish gel liner. The formula is exactly the same. The PV glides on fairly smooth.... for me it performs just like all other gel eyeliners I have used. My eyelids don't allow for gel liners to run across smoothly enough for my liking, so this may very well work for many other people who are able to use gel liners. One thing I don't care for is how far the product is in the pot. You are sticking your brush waaayyy down in the pot and not sure how far the brush is digging in the product. A couple times I brought my brush up and it was covered from the ferrell down to the tip with liner. It was quite a mess!!

So the total box value was $172 and I only pay $21 for the entire box. While I do think that it is a great deal because of the full size products and the value, I unfortunately didn't like most of the products in this box.

Of course this is not the product's fault. My skin doesn't do well with the silicone primers of any kind and my eye lids don't allow smooth application of gel liner.

I loved the lipstick and the Pretty Vulgar gel pot is true "vanity candy" and will be sitting out for decor. These are two keepers for me.

The brushes, primer, and sculpting pallet will all go to my "niece box" where they can test and try out for themselves to see if any of these high end products will work for them.

Well, that's all I have for today, until next time, take care.
