CoverGirl Katy Kat Lip Gloss Swatches and Reviews

in makeup •  7 years ago

Happy Tuesday!!

I'm so excited to bring you the swatches and my review of the Katy Perry and Covergirl collab of the Katy Kat Lip Glosses!!

These first caught my eye because of the packaging. I am a true sucker for cute packaging and I am not ashamed. But after trying out the first one, I decided that I wanted to get the rest of them. Well, that is of course, all except the teal and white one. I am not going to wear those two ever and I didn't want to spend the money on something that I didn't care to have, so you get to see 9 out of the 11 Katy Kat lip glosses today. I found most of them at my local Wal Mart for $6.99 each and a couple I picked up from Ulta for $7.99 each.

For the review...

You must first know that these are lip glosses, not to be mistaken for lip sticks. So there is not much of a "staying power" to them. They didn't make it through a meal for me and without eating or drinking, they only lasted about two hours at best. The darker reds will leave a smidget of a stain on the lips but it will be gone not too long after the original gloss wear time. But they are so cute that I have no problem throwing one in my purse for touch ups throughout the day, and will get compliments on their cute-ness when applying them. :)

These are very thick and can be very opaque, HOWEVER, while you may be scared of some of the shade colors, please know that they can be sheared out and look so very beautiful as well. I like to mix them some to get different colors, but make sure you wipe off the wand before putting it back in the gloss tube so you don't contaminate the rest of the color.

My favorite is the Kitty Karma, but I am partial to dark and bold pinks such as that. And I can't do without the reds for sure. Cateloupe is beautiful on top of a nude lipstick or if you want to wear it alone it looks beautiful by it self and with a nude lip liner. Pounce and Candy Cat are a bit scary but sheared out they are awesome!! To shear them out I just put a dot on my finger and used my finger to apply it to the lips for a wash of color and shine effect.

I don't notice any sort of smell to them so that shouldn't be a problem to anyone who is offended by scents. I will be doing more eye tutorials over the next couple weeks and I will be using these glosses so you can see them in action and get a better idea as to how you can incorporate them in your looks.

That's all I have for now, I hope you enjoyed the review and swatches of the Kitty Kat lipglosses by Katy Perry and Covergirl.

Until next time, take care!!

-Kim
