Hubby Mishap = Happy Haul

While doing mindless grocery shopping yesterday, I called Brad and asked him "do you want or need anything from the store?". He replied "no". This was at the beginning of my grocery trip, so 45 minutes later I am in the check out line with all of my groceries on the belt waiting to be checked out and the hubs sends over a text "can you get me some allergy medicine?".

There was no way I am taking all two weeks worth of groceries off that belt and stacking them back in my basket nor going back into that monstrous size grocery store again for allergy medicine. So I gladly replied to him that I'd go to Walgreens and get him some after I pick up Caleb. :) Terrible excuse to rummage through the cosmetic section, but I most certainly and happily did.

Now, I am really happy to report that I came home with some sweet little treats for my makeup loving self. And it was thanks to the hubs for his forgetfulness. Aren't hubby's great?!

Do you notice two little items that look familiar?

"Why yes, I DID find two more Maybelline City Mini pallets that I had not yet seen". :) I thought I had purchased all the ones they had out but apparently, I have not. I know I have purchased all the ones that my local Walmart and the one next to Caleb's school both have, and have yet to see any new ones. Nevertheless, I found them and I am a very happy girl!!

Matte About Town and Concrete Runway were the two I picked up and couldn't wait to try them out.

For these two little pallets, I will do just like I did on my last four or five City Minis and make 3 looks to show you, along with swatches and final reviews. I got so excited, I went ahead and did a little look with the Matte About Town this morning.

It was just a basic neutral look. I hadn't yet swatched them so I didn't know what they would look like on the eye. So basic is safer at times like these. ;)

Next up I found an Elf and Christian Sirano collab, Matte Liquid Lipstick and had to try it on for you...It's a beautiful bright fushia color, perfect for summer time.

I have not dabbled in this collab line and to be quite frank, I just grabbed because the packaging was so appealing and I hadn't seen Elf collab with many people. So again, I was excited to try it out.

And, lastly I picked up a Sally Hansen Diamond polish in Something New. This reminds me so much of Essie's Shrimp color polish, I might actually have that one....but nevermind that, I thought this would be beautiful as a toenail color for sandal season...and for fingernails too.

And there you have it....hubby's mishap made haul. Am I missing something or is Maybelline coming out with new City Minis? The ones that I have tried are fantastic quality and from the little I played with the Matte About Town, I think it will be the same.
