Nasi Lemak: Keto diet version

in malaysia •  8 years ago  (edited)

Traditional breakfast here in Malaysia is "Nasi lemak". Rice, spicy sauce, dried fish, hard boiled eggs, peanuts, cucumber and often an additional meat.

As I had been on keto diet for nearly three months, I often miss rice or potato.

To pretend to have a rice based meal, I cooked a keto version:

  • shredded coconut instead of rice
  • fried dried anchovies in coconut oil
  • grilled macadamia nuts instead of peanuts (they are legumes not nuts)
  • homemade sambal (sauce)

Delicious! Sedap!

Hi @justinian. You might like to add some extra tags to this post - paleo, keto and lchf. I've suggested your recipe to paleo-trail for consideration for steemtrail. And we'd love to see your recipe on the paleo tag.
