The Escape Park in Malaysian island Penang, will soon open its door for the world’s longest water following the completion of Phase 3 of the theme park’s development.
Stretching over 1.14 km, the blue and yellow slide starts up a hill of about 70 meters height then makes its way through a rain-forest before ending its 4 minutes ride at the Escape park.
Constructed by the Sim Leisure Group, CEO Sim Choo Kheng, the giant snake made of reinforced-polymer claimed the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest water slide, thrice as long as the previous record-holder in Germany 356 meters.
“I’m always baffled by how rides are made so short and quick. I wanted to build rides that last a good few minutes, with non-stop smiles and giggles as visitors fly through the rainforest – something never done before.”
“We then realized the 70-meter elevation at the hilltop would mean that the water slide would become a record-breaking feat. We thought, what the heck if we can put the extra smiles on our customers’ faces, it would all be worthwhile,” he explained.
