Malaysia won its seventh gold in the 2018 Asian Games through the men's team squash after defeating Hong Kong, China 2-1 in Jakarta on Saturday.
The gold in the men’s team squash was the second in squash for Malaysia after the first one in the women’s singles category. Besides the two golds, Malaysia earned a silver medal also from the women’s singles, and two bronzes from the men's singles and women's team.
In the first match of the final round, Hong Kong, China scored the first point after Yip Tsz Fung defeated Yuen Chee Wern (Ivan Yuen) of Malaysia 3-1 (11-7, 20-18, 9-11, 11-8).
In the second match, Mohd Nafiizwan Mohd Adnan of Malaysia, who was defeated by Lee Ho Yin in the men's singles semifinals, avenged his defeat by winning 3-0 (11-9, 11-7, 11-7) in the final round of the men's team.
In the third match, Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia did not have a hard time competing against Au Chun Ming and won 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, 11-4).
After losing to Malaysia 2-1, the Hong Kong men's team had to settle for silver in the men's team category. In total, Hong Kong won two golds in squash events from men’s singles and women’s team categories, and two silvers from men’s singles and men’s team events.Source
