A man with his principles

It is impossible to limit the number of situations that a person experiences in his daily life that require an approach to deal with these situations. Indeed, it is not possible to count the situations that each of us must have gone through and in which he felt that he must have basic rules by which to act, in order to be able to judge his behavior. Was it within the correct framework or did he follow his personal whims?

There are many issues in which we are forced to deal with others and appear before them in a certain way, for example: situations that require expressing an opinion on a specific issue, or even voting in an electoral forum, for example! Every position you have in life must stem from an idea rooted in yourself, as judgment is a branch of its perception. It is not at all appropriate for a person’s life to be gelatinous, shaped according to what others want or required by personal interest, or to be merely reactions and nothing else. There must be a method that governs us and directs our actions and words, and serves as the general standard for our movements in life.
In critical situations, the soul will stop for a while and will have two choices: either follow the principle or follow the desire, and the soul will not be able to follow the principle without taming.
This approach will somehow form a safe space for us, if our actions are within it; The result was our feeling of contentment and inner peace, and if it contradicted or exceeded it, then there was pain and remorse of conscience. This approach, which we can call (principles), is what distinguishes one person from another, or gives him his own charisma. It is by its principles that he is known, and by them his identity is formed, and through them he draws his image in people’s minds. -In my opinion- people are divided based on the motives of their actions into four categories:

1- Some people are motivated only by their personal interests, so they run after any opportunity that pleases them. There are also those who act according to personal whims, and we find them sometimes here and sometimes there.
2- While the actions of some people are reactions to the actions of others, such as if they reacted out of dislike to the position of the person opposite, or perhaps the person himself!
3- Or whoever wants to take refuge in the middle, does not want to side with any of the parties, so always watch for someone who stands in the middle.
4- Or that person who has built principles for himself related to a specific approach, and believes that this approach is the most appropriate for him.

We often see or deal in our lives with gelatinous people who are like water bubbles. No matter how high the bubble rises in the air, it explodes with the first solid object it collides with, if it does not disappear on its own! I do not think that there is anyone stronger or tougher than those with clear principles, for there is no survival or transcendence except for those with principles, and how many are those who delude themselves that they represent mediocrity and moderation, when they represent nothing but a mirage!

The first step in building an integrated approach is to train the soul to accept this approach. In most cases, the soul’s whims will conflict with accepting these principles. In many matters, in critical situations, the soul will pause for a while and have two options before it: either follow the principle or follow the desires, and the soul will not be able to follow... The principle is without taming it before it accepts this matter.
It is absolutely not appropriate for a person's life to be gelatinous, shaped according to what others want, or required by personal interest, or to be merely reactions.
Taming is by convincing the soul of the superiority of this approach to it, and that it is closest to its worldly and hereafter interests. It brings it closer to the correct approach and distances it from the wrong approach. It simplifies for it the path of truth and destroys the path of falsehood before it. The soul must know that its beauty lies in a principle that it follows, even if it conflicts in its path. Many times with her personal interest, life was not created for a personal interest based on material benefit or lustful desire, but rather it was created for a higher purpose connected to a heavenly return.

Here we know that the reflection of values in society and the change in their meanings does not mean that the individual necessarily conforms to them, unless they are compatible with the divine rule, which has set a scale for every thing by which we weigh things, and therefore we understand here that the principles are derived from the Creator and not from creation. The main component of our principles, opinions, and actions must be God, for He is the One who knows what benefits us and what harms us. However, if the component and guide of these principles are people or our souls, then they will either walk in the path of excess or in the path of negligence, and the rulings will mix with what the souls dictate and take pleasure from desires. .

Therefore, the basis upon which our principles are based must be sound and free from the whims and whims of souls, as human nature tends to achieve its personal interest, even if it is at the expense of others. However, this is not appropriate and does not comply with the purposes of Islamic law, and is not consistent with the divine purpose of creating man.
