A little history.

The term 'The Mandela Effect' is credited to Fioma Broome, a paranormal author (http://mandelaeffect.com/about/) .. She has a great site that collects different Mandela Effects from around the world and the internet. But the history goes back much further.

In the early 2000s, sometime around 2001, Art Bell hosted a program on Coast to Coast AM which featured callers all claiming they had the same memory of Nelson Mandela being dead. Being buried! Actually having a funeral in the late 80s or early 90s! Bell had the subject matter as his subject matter over the years while he was either the full time or part time host on the show until 2010.

While I don't want to discredit Ms. Broome, the Mandela Effect goes back further. In 2009, Starfire Tor was a guest on Coast with Bell (http://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2009/11/20) and talked a bit about the idea that many people recall Nelson Mandel dying while in prison. That they remember his funeral... On that November 2009 program she also spoke to Bell about a vacant parking lot being vacant one day and having a Circuit City the next....

Here is the deal.. some people think that time has slipped. That alternative timelines have evolved in our reality.
Some feel that it is because of particle colliding at CERN..
Others think it is just because we live in a holographic universe...
And some of a scientific mindset pooh pooh the entire idea and say that false memories are to blame.

It is one of the most fascinating topics I write about, and will continue to do so..
