It starts out as a story about two lovers, Chiaki and Katsu. Chiaki was supposed to save his loved one from a horrible fate, but was struck down by a sniper. His untimely death changes his love life and the course he should take.
We follow the journey of the main character, Chiaki, from his days as a student of the wa daisuki desu ka where only powerful people go to get training. This would mean only the strong and the smartest could go to the library to get training. Chiaki was one of the chosen few who could enter the library and train alone. His single day there changed everything for him. There he came across the "Brides of Heaven", a group of angels that are dedicated to helping man.
With the help of these good angels, the manga quickly becomes a romance-thrilling, good at all times, fast paced story about heaven and earth. In this series, we see what happens when someone decides to check out the library and find a book on the God's route. Soon, they discover that it is not just any book, it is a book written by a certain Shinichi Chiaki. Once he gets to know Chiaki better, he realizes that there is more to him than he thought, and soon finds himself falling in love with the man. The manga quickly moves into the part when Chiaki goes missing, and this is where things really get good.
Our main hero, Chiaki, finds himself a job with the Tokyo dome relay system as a maintenance man. There he meets Mitsuo, who is a transfer student from heaven who had transferred to human world to study. Soon they fall in love and become a team. Mitsuo soon finds out that Chiaki has been trying to run away from something, but she soon finds out that it is his desire to help mankind. Soon they find that the library was destroyed, and that they are now on planet Argo where they learn that they are supposed to help out humanity by using their powers to open a passage to heaven.
In LLS manga series nageki no bourei, this main male character fights demons and other creatures, sometimes with help from some good angel-like beings. One thing that I liked about this manga series was how, throughout it, the main characters were very stable, mature characters who did not have many weaknesses. They did, however, have a few minor weaknesses. One of them was that they always believed strongly in what they were doing. This was shown when they finally decided to go and help mankind. It showed their faith in their fellow man.
One thing I thought was very interesting was the way that the main characters changed over the course of the series. Some of them got better and developed, while others were almost left behind. It made for great drama. Another thing I thought was pretty cool was the way that some of the other characters from the original work adapted to this format. I especially liked how one of the angels, Archangel Gabriel, ended up getting a main role.
Overall, the LLS Jinmen is worth a read. It's graphic and it's a bit racy at times. But in all honesty, it's good clean fun, for just about any kind of person. The story's happy, while the characters are having good adventures.
