The discovery of skeletal remains in Morocco undermines the ancient understanding of human origins

The concept of the human race was turned upside down on Wednesday (June 6th) by the discovery of skeletal remains at Mount Igud in the province of Yusufiya, Morocco, more than 100,000 years old than any other human remains known as Homo sapiens.

Scientists have determined that the skulls, bones and teeth of at least five individuals date back about 300,000 years ago in a remarkable discovery of anthropology.

One of the researchers said the bone remains are amazing. But its discovery in North Africa, not East or even sub-Saharan Africa also defies expectations.Skulls, facets and teeth were similar to those of contemporary humans, but the outstretched skull showed that the brain needed more time to develop into its present form.
"This article shows the origin of our species," said Jean-Jacques Havelin, a researcher at the German Max Planck Institute for Anthropology who co-authored the research published in the journal Nature.
Before the discovery of a site called Igud Mountain between Marrakesh and Morocco's coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, the oldest known remains of Homo sipiens were discovered at an Ethiopian site known as Oumo Kebic, dating back 195,000 years.
"The message we want to convey is that our sex is much older than we thought and it has not been established ... somewhere in East Africa. It is a process in all of Africa and a more complex scenario than has been envisaged so far. "
The skeletal remains were found at the bottom of a cave and belonged to three adults, a teenager and an eight-year-old child believed to have lived on fishing
