Religion and violence.

The reverse examples are very telling of the nuances in this meme: UK, France, Spain, Viet Nam, Azerbaijan, and South Korea are secular but violent by whatever measures; while Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Portugal, New Zealand, and Bhutan are religious but peaceful.

Azerbaijan, South Korea, and Viet Nam are in conflict zones created by "the Great Powers".

Scandinavians are descendants of Old Norse speakers and share a lot of cultural proclivities. Finns and the Samis who cross the borders are related and these all have low population and good natural borders, attributes shared by New Zealand, Portugal and Bhutan.

If I had to choose from scratch, I would consider the latter group.

This meme seems a bit silly to me. I mean, I don't see Canada being significantly less religious than the U.S. (but then I don't know how they are defining this).

Likewise, what is meant by "peaceful"? How is that measured in this context?

Incidentally, I looked at the "Religion in Canada" and "Religion in the United States" articles on Wikipedia and they measure them in completely different ways. For instance, Canada has one "Christian" category whereas the U.S. has several (Catholicism, Protestantism, etc.). Also, Canada has a category called 'no religion' whereas the U.S. does not but does have categories for 'atheism', 'agnosticism', and even 'nothing in particular'. while Canada does not. The U.S. has more Christians and Jews than Canada while Canada has more Muslims and Hindus (in terms of percentages...the U.S. has 10 times as many people so I'm sure it has more of everything by absolute numbers).
