It was just a number of things. First my laptop died, setting me back quite a few days. Then I couldn't stand my protagonist. Then my setting was bugging me (first time trying to write a weird semi-post-apocalyptic thing). And then my wisdom tooth started causing me grief and I could barely think through the pain. And my son was a lot more demanding this time around than he was in November 😂

Not the best month for obsessed writing sprees!

Ohhh, you just reminded me I owe NetGalley a book review. I didn't like the protagonist. Or her teenage daughter, the secondary protag. But the author writes this sweet message to her readers about her debut novel and how much it means to her.... I can't come down too hard on this one. It's a "psychological thriller" that didn't thrill me. Oh what to do. It's PUBLISHED. By an real publisher. It's much easier to love a work in progress. And I do love your stories, @kaelci. I never did get through all 12K words of your latest but now I have to, to see why you hate your protag!! And btw THANK YOU for March Madness and for the warm fuzzies I guiltily get knowing that I am not alone in punting my WIP across the floor and vowing to revisit it some other day. :)

I'm really not sure what it is I don't like about him. I don't think it comes across in the story but it did in my mind. He was just this whiny man whom I intended to have a more cynical and sarcastic personality.

Henry was supposed to be cynical and sarcastic, maybe a bit suave.
Sebastian was supposed to be the happy-go-lucky cheerful funny guy.
Cassandra was suppose to be haughty, high and mighty, then lose her faith and confidence.

It's funny though, because I know a few 40yr old men, andddd most of them are whiny whingers instead of being MEN! (Sorry, I'm a stereotypical hag) So maybe I'm projecting someone I know onto poor Henry and it's annoying me.

Anyway! :D

Your upcoming book review makes me think. I should write a message to my Dear Reader at the start of my saga so they take it a little easier on me. ;)

I think the story could work, after a lotttttt of altering, and switching up some personalities. And setting it back in stereotypical magical land instead of modern day weirdness.

Your story actually got me, it was the one I was truly following.

March has been so hectic, I hardly get time to write. But, I am glad I participated even though I am at 11,000 plus words. That's already a jackpot for me. I never thought I could do that. You should have seen me acting like a wonder woman with a lot of badassery and swagger.😀😀

I intend to keep writing till the end of the month.

Lets see I need 3 hours (smartphone) to write about 2200 words (perhaps more) and make up a story as well...5 days left x 24 hrs / 3 * 2,200 words = 88,000 words ... just 50,000 needed so you can catch about 12.5 hours sleep in 5 days. ☘

I still am in awe about how you write so much on your phone. My partner does the same thing, on a phone with a cracked screen that jumps all over the place no less. Willpower, patience, and stamina that I do not have.

I love my sleep too, but for some reason I always wake up at 4 am or 4:30 am :(

I write since 4 years on my phone. I even open a lot of screens like I was used to do as I still had a computer. Somehow you I find it easier now and I even think I am faster, although I just use 1 finger instead of 10. Also it is as if I think different if I use the phone. Just wish I had some more screen. Biggest part is keyboard now.

I really wanted to do a twist with her. Like, at the end, she realises that the balloon-headed-freaks, especially the one she loves, are just terrible people and betrays him, killing herself in order to allow Sebastian and Henry to live. Saving Sebastian just before whatever creature inhabited him devoured him entirely. Or something. I don't know! That evil wench was the one character I liked, haha!!
