When we look at most peo￾ple today, one thing stands
out;smartness,selfrespect and
hardwork.The phrase that men are hard￾working is tired but nonetheless keeps
haunting our mind when we look at them
wasting what they have really worked hard
for to ruin their lives.
They believe that alcohol makes them
relax,happy and confident but little do
they know that that may be the cause of
most problems that are faced in their daily
lives.most of them dont see it as wasting
resources,they prefer to have fun than
looking after their families but the truth is
that Mr.Alcohol doesnot know the reper￾cussions of excessive drinking.
Alcohol is the greatest factor behind
misery of many families today in our contemporary society.Almost 50percent of
families break up is attributed to consumption of alcohol becouse adrunkard can never be at peace due to too much intoxination
he alwaiys beats up his wife and children.
Therefore the relationship between the parents and children is strained and unnatural.This is becouse alcohol has taken over
afamily member that impacts every other
member of the family leading to fights
hence divorce and violance affecting children in away that they experience trauma
and pain from the member,they grow up
changed different from other children missing different parts of neccessary parenting
which makes them feel inner anxiety or
rage and they dont know why they feel the
way they do.
Many people wonder if the use of alcohol is away of committing suicide by
"slow death".most persons who abuse these
substance are taking them chiefly as kind of
self medication to reduce their stress.This
seems to be more the case with men than
women not knowing that it causes more
stress to them than solving the problem.
Alcohol leads to greater of slow death
from cirrhosis of the liver and of accidental death associated to risk taking behaviours.Between 30 and 50percent of persons
who die by suicide have shown a patern
of abuse to this substance.Almost all alcoholics who commit suicide also suffer from
severe mental health problems.The probability that an alcoholic will die by suicide
varies by 2 to 6percent.
Due to consumption of alcohol there
are critical periods of break up in relationships and financial problems in the alcoholic's patience which lead to depression or
personality dissorder.
One challenge is to communicate to
adolescents that despite the immediate
good feelings,alcohol may facilitate an unpleasant depressive mode which often accompanies abuse.
