Holy Grail - Marijuana Strain Review and Smoke Report

in marijuana •  8 years ago

This beautiful hybrid strain named Holy Grail has a thick layer of amber trichomes caked on to every part; the bud, sugar leaf and even stems are completely covered. The strong citrus aroma with a pungent kick of skunk is sure to clear your sinuses. Be warned this is an extremely odorous strain.

Upon first glance these frosty nuggets appear dense and heavy but on closer inspection upon grinding the bud it is revealed that they are actually quite light and somewhat fluffy. There is definitely some stickiness as can be seen from the pieces stuck in the top of my grinder but this is by far not the stickiest of strains.

The smoke delivered everything the odor promised. I was treated to a smooth, sweet flavor with dank citrus tones. Unfortunately the flush on my particular buds could have been a little better. The ash was a little dark and I could tell there was a tiny bit of nutrients left over from the mild tingle on the tip of my tongue.

The high was sativa dominant being clear and cerebral but I could feel some definite indica relaxation. From the lack of red itchy eyes, hunger and sleepiness I can definitely recommend this as a powerful daytime strain.

Given that the only problem I could find with this experience was limited to the execution of the particular batch mine came from, I'm going to rate this strain as a 5 out of 5 for a strong sativa dominant hybrid. If you have a chance I highly recommend you try Holy Grail.

From Leafly:

Holy Grail Kush is a newer strain created by seed breeders DNA Genetics and Reserva Privada Colorado. It entered into the Seed Company Hybrids category at the 2011 High Times Cannabis Cup. As the offspring of multi-award winners OG #18 and Kosher Kush, it’s no surprise that Holy Grail Kush came out on top and is said to have nabbed the competition’s first-ever perfect score. The plants are easy to grow, with large, dense buds appearing at 9 to 10 weeks. Most of Holy Grail Kush’s praise centers around its potency; THC levels have tested at over 20%, but this hybrid produces a more mellow relaxation than the melt-your-face-off indica sensation the name might suggest. The aroma of this plant is pure kush and has a strong spicy citrus smell, both while growing and once harvested, that is uniquely complex.
