Pez globo - Tamboril espinoso - Chilomycterus atringa
El tamboril es un pez globo, con lo que cuando se siente amenazado se infla. Posee enormes ojos situados en el lateral de una enorme cabeza cuadrada. Las espinas que recorren su cuerpo le dan máxima protección de posibles depredadores, . Suele encontrarse en arrecifes de coral, rocas y cuevas. Se alimenta sobre todo de erizos. En cuanto al tamaño, superaban amplia mente el medio metro (en etapa de adulto). No debemos olvidar que es un pez globo, por tanto si lo encontramos en una inmersión evitaremos agobiarle y ponerle nervioso, pues aunque el inflado es un mecanismo de defensa, estresa al pobre pez.
Hay que estar bajo el agua y poder captar estos hermosos detalles que son ignorados.

Just astonished. Mind you I was also astonished recently to learn that tuna were so large. It's funny, things under the ocean you usually have no concept of the size of them until you see them yourself, or someone tells you.

Except, throughout my career I have seen many creatures that have left me surprised, and not presissibly because they are so big, there are very small fish that are very interesting, the family of the gobidae and the bleny.
