The National Museum of the Marine Corps

Sometime back in 2009/2010 a group of about 15 Marines from Cherry Point, NC got the privilege to go to Virginia on what I would call at the time a field trip. I thought it was a waist of time, I wouldn't be able to drink with my buddies on the weekend or go party. but once we got out there everything changed, I made new relationships with other Marines and learned so much about the Marine Corps. On our first day we checked into the Marine Security Guard (MSG) barracks. The next day we all piled into the van and went to The Marine Corps Museum where little did I know I would love a lot. That day we learned more about the Marine Corps than boot camp even teaches you. Not to mention there is also visuals there that give you a deeper understanding of what actually happened there and what great sacrifice some have made for our liberty! I think that day what got me the most what the Memorial for the Marine - Navy deaths at IWO JIMA that wall was just lined with tons of eagle globe and anchors signifying for every one a Marine had died there. It was truly a wake up call to me! If you are interested in knowing more about the Marines than I suggest you go here because I believe it changed me as a Marine forever!

Here are some pictures I took while I was there!
I apologize if some of the pictures are blurry didn't have the best camera with me that day!
