I don't know what compels people to make war and loss of life a contest, but this is an important point.
Mariupol had a pre-invasion population of nearly half a million. It is still under Russian occupation and we have no ability to know the true number. But based on new mass graves the true number could be upwards of 75k or more deaths in that city alone.
And mind you for the Tankies, Mariupol was a city of mostly Russian speakers and majority ethnic Russians. This invasion was never about "protecting Russian speakers".
