Color Challenge Thursday/Green Cannabis Flower Photography

Today's color challenge is an update on my lovely Green girls! All four of my girls are starting to girth up and crystallize but at a snails speed.

I had my vending tents on the girls last couple weeks since the rain moved in. Now, we are having a warm spell again and gorgeous day that feels like summer, not a cloud in the sky and mid 70's. They say we might get into the 80's this next week.

I found 2 spots last week of powdery mildew on the leaves of the Afgoo and one spot on the Strawberry Cough, I immediately removed those leaves and misted all four plants, around the pots, the hay, and surrounding areas with half/ half watered down. I figured, I would adapt the milk recipe from last week's Green post, since I had it in my fridge. I sprayed fine mist in the morning before sunrise, a dryer day, worked wonders! My girls seemed to love it so far. No more signs of it on the cannabis. However, I found a big ole patch on my zucchini and yellow squash,so I pulled those plants and tossed in the yard debri bin and sprayed down all that area this afternoon with a solution of Hydrogen Peroxide, Dr Bronner's Soap and Baking Soda, a prevention mix.

I watered and fed with this mix today early morning. I find that when Fall hits, cooler nights I switch to morning watering instead of early evening, another consideration when moisture and misty weather moves in.

The last several years I grew my plants were twice as big. I'm really enjoying the bonsai approach this year, I might not yield as much, however the slow and steady might just surprise me in the end. A lot depends on the weather, moisture, sun, cold etc.
