This is from one of my recreational plants this year. It must be a variety on the Jaeger strain! I have not seen a strain that makes such pink hairs, I thought perhaps it was too much phosphorous, however several friends said that's just the strain.
The smoke is still consuming us from all the local and California fires. I feel for all the birds and little beings, I've been putting out clean water buckets with twigs in it and see all the little ones drinking it up.
The smoke and extreme heat seems to have affected the grow rate, perhaps it was my ph in soil as well. Looking forward to this plant getting big and beautiful
Today's project is adding some straw to the base of the pots in hopes of keeping soil warmer as the cooler nights set in. I will need to prepare tents to cover when the rains come, since these will be growing possibly until November at this rate.
Lots of love and care still required .... to be continued
I believe the strain you have here is Blue City Diesel. We have grown this strain previously and it did not have pink pistles like this. This year however, we obtaineda 1st generation BCD plant, and it looks almost identical to this one (check it out here if you like).

Well I read your review on strain, seems exactly what I'm looking for. Last year I harvested everything when trichomes were amber brown to dark brown, wanted more mellow nighty night vibe, and I LOVE MY Jager , still actually have some head colas I've been slow curing since last year, everyone says that is their favorite mine too...I'll miss her this year, good to try new things.

We usually crop our plants when the trichromes become milky or have just started to show amber under a microscope... or at the first sign of mold. What does your slow curing method involve? I have trouble storing cannabis long term sometimes, even with temp regulation, humidity packs, and sealed in containers in closed bins in a dark place.

All I can say is that when drying I did a 60%dehumid and then did dry trim, I think I might do a wet trim this year, depends on size/quality etc. I inspect most batches under microscope make sure no powdery mildew which I'm really really picky about and I even washed all my buds last year, because of the invasion of russet and spider mites I had, so I bathed it all, and then hung, crazy amount of time, but sooo worth not having fiber particles, mite poop you name it.. after washing we cut down and hung outside first dry then put in dry room, after all is well dried, I put in glass containers, best with the plastic lid instead of metal but metal is okay. If you are going to keep bud long term the bovida bags can be useful really gotta be on that and know what those things mean. I basically burped my jars once every two or three weeks where I open them up and leave to air, most important with all drying of plants, herbs etc. keep in cooler dark dark place! The light actually breaks down the properties in the plant.. I'm very curious about Japanese techniques, I've read that they cure their pot up to 5 -10years like cured wine and cheese, how about them apples! So if done right THC can get stronger and better, most people don't take the time and have some kind of moisture in the container bugs you name it and then it disintegrates on ya. A little piece of paper towel in bottle can help if you are concerned there is moisture in air. For example if it's December and raining a lot high humidity and you burp your jars during this moist air time you can potentially trap some moisture in there.. So conditions of weather are factors and important to consider.
This is my Jager and Shiska I grew last year harvested/cured October 2017... oh man I can smell this goodness through the computer screen!

Interesting... I follow most of your guidelines and I still have issues. Always indoors under temp control, no light, burping, even moisture packs, all that. I am surprise to hear your washed your buds! That is a first but glad it worked out and didn't mold up on you. Nice looking flowers!

Could be your moisture packs, I've heard up and down reviews on that? Size of jar might be factor? I have mine in smaller glass jars, I have seen issues when folks use one gallon jars.. I figured if a batch for some reason went bad, better little amounts than a big ole jar. I did the washing and big leafing all outdoors, super enjoyable, have nice big back yard can do that with. I saw lots and lots of youtube on folks washing pot mostly with Hydrogen Peroxide baths and for those with p.m. issues.. I know how much I enjoy a shower, key is not too cold of water at that time year and super gently. My understanding if you use cold water when washing can knock of trichomes. I think the Japanese use milk like they wash and cure that way.. I'll do some research this week and get back to ya..
