Learning Markdown helps you make your great content look great!

I created an online course called Steem Markdown, which teaches you how to use Markdowns to format your Steemit posts.

In this post, I am including information from Lesson #7 - Ordered Lists/Numbered Lists.

Getting Started

Lists allow you to display a group of items in an orderly fashion. There are ordered lists and unordered lists.

  • Ordered lists, commonly referred to as numbered lists, contain a numerical order or ranking.
  • Ordered lists can be used for step-by-step instructions and ranking the outcome of an events, such as a race.

Important things to remember:

  • Ordered or Numbered lists use the following format:
number + period + space + list item
  • It does not matter which numbers are used to create an ordered list.
  • Sub-lists can be created for ordered lists.
  • You can indent paragraphs and indent lines in ordered lists.

The Comparison

What you type:

1. One
2. Two
3. Three
4. Four

1. One

1. Three
4. Four

What you see:

  2. Two
