Many view the financial sector as a leading indicator to the broader market.

If this is the case, the future of the stock market could be in trouble.

The XLF dropped 2.8% on Friday, leading the larger market lower. The financial ETF is flashing possible warning signs as the yield curve inverted. This is the first time that happened since 2007.
