MarketFriday - What a fool! I forgot the camera and the phone at home

in marketfriday •  7 years ago

Friday is a hard day, the beginning of the end (of the week)! There is much to be done in the household and I must start with a visit to the market. I usually use this activity to take pictures to illustrate the weekly MarketFriday challenge initiated by @dswigle. Well, it was not good at all! Like a fool, I forgot to take my camera or the smartphone with me. That's why I will not have any image from the market but I'm thinking of doing something new, to introduce what I did with what I bought from the market.

I bought: eggplant, tomatoes, onions, chicken, flour, oil and breadcrumbs.

First I want to make a baked eggplant salad, baked directly on the stove flame.

After about 20 minutes, eggplants looked like this, they could be taken from the fire

I put the other eggplants on the fire and I started with the main kind of food, a kind of Shanghai chicken...

After I finished the chicken, I cleaned the eggplant to make the salad:

The salad of baked eggplant must be made only with wooden tableware ...

The baked eggplant is then mixed with salt, oil, onion and tomato, the salad is ready! Together with the Shanghai chicken, this is my food today!

Well, all this looks like a cooking blog, I didn't want... all because I forgot my camera. I hope not happen again! This is my contribution to MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle . Thank you!

Well, it isn't the market, but, it is the next best thing!!! Things bought at the market! #MarketFriday is very forgiving, especially for the loyal contributors! It can also be part of a cooking blog.

Which kind of market did you go to today? The wonderful one that you went to last week? I loved it! Did you get flowers this week? I didn't see any around, so I am guessing not!

I have to admit, you really piqued my interest when I saw you cooking that eggplant that way. I have never seen it done that way. The one problem I have with the eggplant is that it tends to have a lot of liquid in it. I was wondering how you do away with that? Yours does not look that way.

Well, I have to admit, you might have skipped a couple of steps today, but, you certainly recovered nicely!

Thanks for the wonderful post, Dan! Happy #MarketFriday!!

Upped and Steemed and tip! (I am a little low on voting power at the end of the day!)

Yes, I was in the same market, I am addicted! It's true that I forgot my camera but also was a little trick...I already have two posts with the same market and i thought is too much to post again the same thing. About the cooking, I like a lot to cook. It relaxes me, many times I change recipes and many times the result is no good. This kind to prepare the eggplant is a hard one because you must to clean alot after the work but the test is better. I had the feeling something is wrong with my post and I realise, now, that I forgot to put hashtag # before the name MarketFriday. Thank you for understanding my deviation from the subject.

No worries! You can always edit it! You can use the same market every week if you want. It doesn't matter. Or if you go to a place to buy something. A department store, whatever. A car lot. But, this was a fine post and I am glad you shared it.

The cooking looked awesome!

Thank you! The next Friday I still hope to show something new (market).

I look forward to it!

I know, thank you!

Cu plăcere.

Bine spus / well said. Congrats!

Fascinated by how you cooked the eggplant. Will have to try it ~ Although I can see that I'll have to be prepared, as you were with foil covering the stove.

Thanks. The result is very tasty! You have to protect the cooker, it will be easier to clean after those... As I hope you noticed, it was not my intention to do a cooking post, although I like cooking, I work a lot (what my wife does in half an hour I do in one hour) but it relaxes me!

Oh how yummy!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

The baked eggplant looks yummy, I love them!

Yes, are very good, you must try sometime, is not hard to do

Its nice to share...thanks..check out my market

It's my pleasure. I will check, of course. This is my last week post, today post I made it few minutes ago...
