Another MarketFriday

in marketfriday •  6 years ago

Today I'm gonna show you the most disappointing market ever (for me at least). I love markets, I love craft fairs and don't have high expectations but still, there are standards and limits.

I won't tell you where these photos were taken. Let that be my secret.

image

What you can see here is gingerbread with sugar glazing, symbolising cars. The form of gingerbread is the same, the sugar glazing is different. My niece wanted to buy a Subaru for his brother but the vendor lady has never heard of Subaru. My niece wanted to buy one as a joke.

image

More gingerbread and some candy sticks.

image

Turkish delight, chocolate, candy, gingerbread and other sweets.

image

Wow, looks at those goodies! Right? You're probably asking what's wrong with me, what's my problem with these sweets? I'll tell you later, be patient 😉

image

Walnut pie, pumpkin pie, cheese pie etc. Looks good, isn't it? It does indeed. The only problem is that these products were kept in the open, unprotected while the outside temperature was 33°C/92F.

image

Another category of food, same stupidity. The decoration is great, the food looks great as well, but ... There's always a but!

image

Basically I could have touch the food without anyone noticing it or it could have been covered with dust in case of a wind.

Ok, that being said, let's pretend this is not an issue (even though it was!) and enjoy the decoration.

image

Do you see that guy smiling? Do you know why he's smiling? No? It's ok, I do 😁

image

Look at that fork! Have you ever seen such a huge fork? I haven't, but I love it!

image

Look, there is a huge spoon too! Didn't see a knife though 😀.

image

This is a bit better, there's some protection there but not enough. Food shouldn't be kept in these conditions.

image

Now that's better! That's a fridge full of goodies. I don't know if the fridge was working or if it was just to make me shut up 😃.

In conclusion, the rustic decoration was excellent, I love these kind of decorations, especially when it comes to craft fairs. About the food ... it's better not to talk about it.

This is my entry to #marketfriday hosted by our lovely Denise, @dswigle.

Open market like this brings on so many questions for me..And lot of sugar too :-)

Indeed :)

hee hee, erikah, then you'd better not come to Israel and other eastern countries. here to see the food that lies on the open table is quite an ordinary thing and no one asks any questions about it. and the heat we have - this is a frequent phenomenon :) but we also treat this as much as you do, and do not buy food in such places.

Well, I know in some parts of the world things are far more wors, the heat is unbearable and the meat is in the open, covered by flies 🙂
So I agree, safety comes first, we don't buy from places like this 😉

hee hee :))) you just described it exactly especially about the flies :))))

Yeah, the good thing is that I've only seen that in TV :)

Sweetie, wonderful post, and I find those gingerbread cars nice... and photogenic! About the food, I'm with @tali72, and here is one pick especially dedicated to you, taken live from me at the market here in ET. You got it all ;)
And the worst is that I don´t know if I've eaten some at some restaurant here. But I guess I'm immune to everything by now :D

Oh dear God!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Where are the health inspectors?
I guess I would rather die hungry 🙂

There are none... I know what you feel... and the fish is even worse... I will show you some other day, I don't want to give you indigestion!

Gimme a fiat! ahahaha

Why a fiat? 🤔

I like tiny cars haaa

I'll send you one!

Hello
your market had to be prohibited hehe.
So many sweet and rich things.
we are in summer and you have to wear body hehe.
I eat it all
happy pretty Friday

Well, I love sweets and would buy one of each but not in these conditions and because I have to watch my weight 😁 but I know what you mean.

Have a nice weekend lovely!

xoxo

🤗😘

you never cease to impress us with your #marketfriday...happy weekend @erikah

It's great to hear that, thank you! Have a great weekend you too!

I have the same thoughts as you. Even without the heat, sanitary conditions are a must, but with the heat, it is imperative. I just don't buy. It is the only thing I can do.

I must say in their defense that is probably what they were taught in a different time and there is nothing abnormal in their eyes. Look how many people will buy it. I know that sounds ignorant, but, it is true. Look at nations that are far worse.

The flies though... I cannot step over that one.

As for the decoration and work, so nicely done. I know what a disappointment that must be and I would be the same. I do like that case at the end and I laughed when you said it was to shut you up! LOL

Thank you, my dear, for always putting out such a wonderful post. I appreciate it and I am not sure you linked it, but I saw you posting late last night (4am for me) but I was so tired I just fell into bed.So thank you!

Upped and Steemed!

Tip!

Thank you again my dear Denise for your wonderful comment and generosity.

I agree with you, for some people this is normal, it's nothing out of the ordinary but not for me.

Anyway, this was the bad part, I have kept the good part for next week 😀
