MarketFriday At The Craft Market

in marketfriday •  6 years ago

Today it's Friday again and of course, that means it's #MarketFriday hosted by our lovely Denise, @dswigle. Read her post here Market Friday Leans into the Harvest Season.

I still have a lot of photos from my last craft market excursion :) and today i thought it would be nice to switch topics and show you some amazing handmade sweets, jams, syrups and other goodies.

Let's start with some handmade and hand painted gingerbread with colorful sugar blazing! I grew up seeing these wonderful artworks at markets and love them. These are for special occasions like birthday, name day, to express love and not only.

Look at these masterpieces, like some embroidery. The ones on the right are new to me, those feature lavender flowers which is also nice.

These are more simple and not traditional. I can see birds, flowers, hearts etc.

Handmade biscuits, lots of them. Who wouldn't want a box of these goodies? I can see lavender, blueberries, vanilla, orange and hazelnut.

Pickles, zacusca and jams! Here you go, you can pick one :) Don't know which one to pick? Let me help you. Pickles: hot pepper, red paprika, cauliflower. You have two zacusca, one with beans, the other with eggplant. You can also choose between plum jam and rose hips.

Here you can see homemade wine, pomace brandy and some fruit juice.

There's no craft fair without honey! Rape, acacia, poliflora and some special hone, which one is your favorite? I'd love a honey bear and I'm going to buy one next time :)

More honey and a bigger bear. Now I know which one to choose :)

All kind of fruit brandy: plum, strawberry, dry plum, cherry, peach and forest pear. These looked so great, too bad I don't drink.

I'm sure you can find your favorite drink here, this table is full of wine, champagne, vodka, cognac etc.

This is my heaven! Jams and fruit juices! I bought myself a pine syrup for sore thought. That's the best homemade remedy.

This little guy is the mascot of the vendor.

And finally more fruit juice. It's really hard to resist so many great products.

I waaaaant!!

Hehehe

She's miss cookie 🍪 after all, isn't she? 😀

Yes!!! :) That is what I love about her!

🍪😍

Of course you want! It wouldn't be you otherwise! 😁

Wonderful post, Erika. I'm stuck with the gingerbread photos though. I would have bought all of them. So delicious. 😋

Hahaha 😀 I told the guy who was selling them the exact same thing. I told him now I have to buy one of each and he said I can give you a box to carry them 😁. Thank you for your nice comment Roxy. A bit late, I admit but here I am.

And did you accept his offer? 😂
It's good to have you back here. 🙂

No, I came home with a ceramic mug, "un facalet" 😂 and a half a liter of pine syrup for sore throat, which is now medicine for my brother.

Yeah, I'm back and might have to rethink my strategy and role here. I guess I'm going to practice being a selfish bitch and instead of trying to help a lot of people, I'm going to concentrate on myself only.

Nice "capture". 😂

You are too nice to be selfish. 🙂 You might try it for some time but you will not feel better. I've been through something similar and as hard as I tried, I couldn't be too bitchy. So, I made a pact with myself: no matter how bad people are, I will not change.

Looks like you know me better than I thought 😇

i like the honey arrangement, looks like some good stuff on display

Thank you @doitvoluntarely!

I LOVE those beautifully decorated cookies.

The fruit brandy sounds good too..

I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for stopping by.

You need to come back and get me! I got stuck at those beautiful gingerbread cookies and could not get myself to go any further! I'm sure I would have taken those home with me. I love the traditional ones, although I might have had to sample the lavender ones.

But the fancy embroidery look of the reds will always be my favorite.

This is a market that is lots of fun to go to. I love seeing the homemade goodness out and waiting to be bought and brought home. The honey is another one of my favorites. I vote we buy the big bear. One doesn't want to run out of the goodness! I make a lot of jams and jellies so, unless it is an unusual one, I probably would pass up on it. When I first started making them years ago, I used to buy them so I could compare to see if I was making them in the right way. Not a reliable method, but, it worked for me.

Homemade wine. Usually stronger than anything I would drink! Well, I am not a drinker, so I don't think I can give a good opinion on that. This is a most yummy market and I really, really liked the post. Thank you for sharing it and taking the time to post it to the challenge!

I hope you have a most wonderful week!

Upped and Steemed

Tip!

Thank you again my dear Denise for these nice words! You're always great with words and make me feel special and appreciated!

I was thinking about the next craft fair, which is just around the corner. In less than a month there's the Christmas market 😀

These markets make it possible for me to always have something interesting to post.

Thank you for your support and encouragement, it is much appreciated!

Have a nice day 😊😘

Oh!! I can hardly wait! Those are the very best markets! :) Thank you! You are always such a pleasure!

I'm happy to make good content and show you something you don't have over there.

I was wondering what I might find at the Christmas market this year 😀

You are a never fail finder of good things. :)

Let's hope I can stay that way 😀

I have no doubt whatsoever! :)

What would you like to see next? I thought I'd ask :)

Hi @erikah! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @dswigle!

I had to look up zacusca. I didn't know what that was, but it sounds delicious. I have a honey bear and a big jar of honey to refill him when he gets low. It all looks quite wonderful. I always want to go shopping with you when I see your markets!

Zacusca, or zakuszka in Hungarian is traditional now, we always make it, each year to have during the winter. It's a great dish if I can say that.

Going together to a craft market like this would be a lot of fun but I think I would lost you at the ceramics 😁

Maybe....😉 you do know how much I love them! but most likely I really want to see it all. That food section looks pretty intriguing!

I know, I know 😁. I would give you an hour at ceramics alone, then we could visit the rest as well. I would be an excellent guide, I can promise you that!
