Market Friday - Yarn Shopping

It's #MarketFriday hosted by @dswigle!

We have a community Thrift Store about 15 minutes drive away from my home! It is absolutely my favorite thrift store of all. They have daily tag colors sales at 50% off, and only one color was off limit, meaning no discount whatsoever for that particular color of the day.

I have bought bags of yarn at half off, but I was very selected! However, on this shopping trip, I bought these huge bags altogether for $20 dollars. I had a purpose for this yarn..

Some are still brand new skeins as you can see, and some are scraps! I was thinking that I could mix and match the yarn to make something. I am a mish-mash type of woman. I can knit, I can crochet, I can sew, and I can embroiled, but I faithfully stay with knitting and crocheting. These handi-talents have brought me some income when I was raising my children as a single mom.

Now lets put this all aside about me! My real purpose for buying these three bags of yarn is making baby things: blanket, hats, booties, and mittens! My aim is two baby blankets, 2 hats, and 2 pairs of booties and mittens! So far, I am almost done with my second blanket, and will be sending them off to California.

You see, I will be a first time grandmother in mid July! My oldest son is having a baby!

I love to crochet and knit. It was important to my grandmother that all of her gandchilden learned how. I wasn't thrilled with it then, but, I wish she were alive to see me now!

Congratulations again and I pray for many blessings for your son and his family!

I'm so glad to read your post, it's like I'm seeing my old self :) I used to do all those things and loved it. Now I have turned my attention to photography and drawing :)

Thank you! It is ok, I left it for a while, but then I come back to it due to circumstances, and left, and come back..I love writing and photography too, but somehow, knitting/crocheting fit in with what I have to do..
