MarketFriday Challenge - Montevideo, Uruguay - Fleamarket of Tristan Narvaja 1/2

Buenos dias amig@s!

As my followers may or may not be aware of by now, taking pictures of markets is one of my favorite street photography moment. The colors, the eclectic collection of people and goods, the sounds-- it´s all very captivating.

Today I´d like to show you the Sunday flea market of Tristan Narvaja, in Montevideo Uruguay.

I have never seen a bigger open air flea market... It spans for atleast 15-20 blocks, from North to South, East to West. It´s absolutely impossible to ¨see it all¨ in one day.

Uruguay is a country of immigrants. The largest waves of immigration came between 1850-1950, and many of these immigrants brought their belongings from Europe with them. This results in many antiques being now sold off at flea markets. One can literally find ANYTHING! Beautiful Art Deco lamps? Check. Old typewriter? Check. Paintings, perhaps made by a famous painter before he made it big? Check. And of course, like any good market, a plethora of bookstores and places to eat.

Below a small selection of some pictures I took on my last trip.

Thank you so much! Can you title them Market Friday without anything else so we can find them easily? Thanks! :)

I adore the street photography too. And flea markets (and yes, junk markets) They are for the curious and for fun.

I appreciate you putting these two post out today for me, that was so awesome to come across them!

Thank again! Upvoted and Resteemed

Thank you lady! I shall keep the title in mind for next post!
Have a nice weekend.

Hehehehe! Thank you!! A great weekend to you!

Like your post, the market you show is like many markets from Romania, i think there are also Romanians in Uruguay.

There are many different peoples in Uruguay. Have never been to Romania, would love to though.

I like the South American ... from movies and books! Unfortunately, it is far too far.

I love it! They have a very interesting way of displaying their products.
