Market Friday - Fabrics, Fabrics, Fabrics.... I Love Them All !

Hello Dear Steemians!

My heart gets excited when I am nearing the oldest and biggest fabric shop named Komolka that is located in the 7th Viennese District. They sell all kinds of materials from very expensive to fabrics that are on sale and are being offered at a very low price just to get rid of them and to clear their warehouse. I´ve been shopping my fabrics here and since I am an avid sewer, I come here to get some inspirations for my projects whether it´s for my home decor or clothing I wanted to sew.

From my house, either I take the bus or I drive to the Park & Ride at the underground station U1, change at the City center to U3 and take a short walk to Komolka. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the store from home.

The Shop where the store is located is known as Mariahilfer Strasse. Nowadays, the street is a shopping mile where almost flagship stores are located, They have converted the street into a car- free zone for two decades now and cafes and other imbiss are now lining the sidewalk. The flair is really nice especially during summertime when these cafes are full of beautiful plants and flowers and all shoppers and tourists alike nicely sit and savor their coffees and other refreshments while their take a break

I went inside the shop and found a beautiful white linen fabric with embroideries. I will make this into a summer dress and will show it here via a post when it´s done. I must admit that I am a hoarder of fabrics and I just buy some even if I do not have a specific project for them. It´s like an addiction although I already have so plenty of fabrics piling up in my stash.
