If you missed Part 1, you can read it here.
If you missed Part 2, you can read it here
Now if you have already read the first two parts, you now have some ideas for how to get the attention of a radio show host and qualify through a "prequel" (the interview before the interview).
If you have lost your cool and screamed "vagina" or worse during the "prequel", well, you are out of the running, my friend. Unless the show is about vaginas, you probably will do better to go to a different radio station!
Part 3 is all about marketing. But don't worry, it doesn't have to be a dirty word.
Before you walk into that studio to appear on the air and tell everyone about your book, your fancy pantsy new nail clipper you designed, or the future of cryptocurrency for the layman - market yourself.
Steemit has more than just Americans on here, but a quick explanation is in order. Americans are weird, messed up creatures. We still suffer from an unrelenting amount of guilt over sexuality, and are constantly told that self-promotion is only for those gauche, uninformed creatures who don't know how to simply shine brightly in the night sky without the need to say (even if it is done with dignity and politeness) "look at me!" without it being simply unacceptable in our society.
But here is the deal. If you are going to be on the radio? Tell EVERYONE.
Tell the clerk in the store. Tell your buddies on Facebook. Tell the reader of your blog, your family members (ALL of them), your friends, the janitor from your high school who you haven't seen in 20 years, and strangers on the street.
Because, damn Skippy, you have accomplished something and folks NEED to tune in.
Coming up tomorrow? Part 4 - Your Moment in the Sun
Bet you wondered when I would ever get around to that, huh?
Stay tuned...
