Meeting like-minded people is hard on Steemit. Its difficult for Steemit.com at the moment to match you with people since the site currently does not have features that do this (I hope that in the future yes). As with other social networks, the later you arrive the harder it gets to gain followers or have your content trending.
Just like in the real world where you have friends with similar interests, its always a good idea to connect with Steemians that also share your same interests ideas, etc.
But how to discover them?
Use steem-buddy.com
Steem-buddy.com. I found this great search engine for the blockchain and I wanted to share with you because it provides results on profiles names, description texts and location for Steemit users.
This helps you also optimize your profile with searchable keyboards that you want to appear in the results and you can later check yourself. Adding people with similar interests and engaging in conversation is a great starting point.
The location field on your profile
I have found that many people use the 'location' field in their profile to add normal text with extra info or even links that are obviously not location places. But this is just extra info that you can add and on your profile and steem-buddy.com does search this field as well so you can take opportunity and add whatever you like there for discovery later on.
Steem-buddy.com is cool
Why? Because its another way and interface of displaying information from the blockchain and we see with them its a search engine for those particular fields of info from your profile. That is very cool and interesting because you can build websites like this one that use the blockchain and provide added value with a functionality on top of the blockchain. Very cool stuff.
