Social Media Marketing - Different platforms utilised by content creators

Now as the title suggests in this post I would like to provide a bit of insight into some of the other platforms that content creators (YouTubers in particular) use. Now as point of reference I am going to be looking at a creator I have already discussed, UnlistedLeaf. Outside of YouTube UnlistedLeaf interacts via social media through 5 main mediums, these are: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch and Google+.

He is the most active on the first two – Facebook and Twitter.
He primarily uses his Facebook page in order to promote videos and upcoming events in his area of expertise, and hence there is not much interaction between himself and his fans through this medium. Unlistedleaf has just over 17k followers on Facebook, in comparison to his 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube.
On his Twitter account however, Unlistedleaf boasts a much larger 71k followers. During his YouTube videos, Unlistedleaf is constantly urging his viewers to shoutout to him on Twitter, and asks for their opinion. This sees him being much more interactive on this platform, occasionally getting in touch with people as well as tweeting very regularly – this is his most active social media account outside of YouTube.

By interacting with his viewers over Twitter as well this allows them the opportunity to tag him in tweets and create hashtags about him – hence this is a great way to increase his exposure purely through word of mouth.
