Definition of marketing

Marketing is the method or activity used by producers to sell products or services to consumers. [1] Marketing is defined as a strategy that contributes to attracting a group of consumers, and includes the application of many activities, such as sales, advertising and others. [2] Another definition of marketing is that all commercial activities are dependent on the application of the art of advertising services and goods in order to convey them to consumers. [3]

Ad definition Advertising (English: Advertising) is a profession used to promote the sale of services or commercial products. [4] The ad is known to attract public attention to something, be it a service or a product, by using various advertising on radio , magazines, television , and newspapers. [5]

Elements of marketing and advertising

Both marketing and advertising rely on a set of elements that make up their content, and the following information about these elements:

Marketing Elements

Elements of marketing ( in English: Marketing Elements) are the basic rules that depend on marketing, and contribute to the understanding of nature and how to apply it . The marketing elements are divided into four types, as follows: [6]

  • Product : (English: Product)most important marketing elements; because all other marketing elements dependit forimplementationmarketing activities, and isproduct of things that can be offered to the market in orderconsume or use orachieveparticular need; it is_khasaisa tangible or intangible, Such as services.

  • Price: The activity that aims to determine the value of the product, which is paid by the buyer (consumer) in exchange for the goods or services, and the price is the important element in making marketing decisions in enterprises that rely on the use of the value of exchange, Contributes to its profits for reasonable prices at consumers.

  • Distribution: A group of means and entities that seek to exchange together to provide services or products to individuals. Distribution ensures that products are available when consumers or customers need them at any time or place.

  • Promotion: (English: Promotion) is an activity that depends on the application of contact with customers in order to convince them and introduce them to the idea of a particular service or commodity, which contributes to influence them, their behavior and attract the consumer to get the thing provided by the promotion.

The Elements of Advertising (in English: Advertising Elements) is a set of elements that contribute to building the effectiveness of advertising , and is divided into the following: [7]

  • Text (title): One of the most important elements affecting the advertisement, and must be communicated in a clear and concise manner. It is important to use an influential title that leads to the public interest in the product and convey summary information about it.

  • Drawing : A collection of graphic symbols and captions that interest the ads, and can be combined with the text element to achieve the best impact on the audience, leading to enhanced attention-grabbing between the service or product and potential customers.

  • Formatting: The way you put all of your ad elements together; in order to arrive at the final creation of your ad, the ad often needs an image, text, and title that all affect the audience.

  • Figure and size: The means and drawings that make up the size of advertisements in magazines and newspapers. Their dimensions and sizes vary according to their location within the magazine's pages or cover, and the shape and size often depends on the specific purpose of the advertisement.

  • Paper is an important element of advertising. The type and composition of the paper convey a positive image of the advertisement, making sure to use non-traditional ink and replace it with soy ink.


Characteristics of marketing and advertising

Both features marketing and advertising a set of characteristics, are:

  • Marketing characteristics: are the main characteristics characterized by marketing, the most important of which are: [8]

    ° Follow-up to customer orientation: Marketing is a service that seeks to direct all business activities in order to achieve customer satisfaction; by focusing on their desires and needs, thus contributing to maintaining the presence of business in the right way.

    ° Marketing Research: A systematic and systematic program aimed at keeping pace with the market by supporting the role of innovation and innovation in providing products that match customer demands.

    ° Marketing planning : is to rely on the application of a targeted approach to achieve marketing objectives, marketing planning helps in the emergence of a consumer-oriented philosophy in the trading system, and marketing objectives must be linked to the acquisition of profits through customer satisfaction, In a precise manner.

    ° Integrated marketing: is the formulation of administrative and organizational objectives, it is important to strengthen the coordination between the activities of organizational units in a proper manner, and also the management of marketing to ensure the development of the marketing mix in order to reach the objectives required.

  • Characteristics of advertising: are the qualities that characterize the Declaration, the most important of which: [9]

    ° Market support tool; advertising is a tool used to communicate with the market through a variety of means, such as promotion of sales and advertising; advertising is a popular and powerful element in the market.

    ° An impersonal communication medium. Advertising is a mass media that targets a certain audience, as well as many individuals in a timely manner.

° A paid model. In other words, advertising is one of the most cost-effective means. The advertiser has to spend money to buy tools and the media . Companies must prepare a special budget for advertising costs.

° It is widely used by all institutions and organizations, such as charities, educational institutions, government agencies and others. Of other facilities.
