The crypto economy requires a fundamental rewiring of our brains.
As a student of history, I often tell people that history is great because it’s the cheapest way to learn from the mistakes of others.
When it comes to the global regulation market, we all have a chance to watch and learn in real-time how different organizations, cultures, and countries respond to the huge paradigm shift that decentralization represents.
Some will try to adapt the old model to the new model.
Some will re-think and begin with a tabula rasa.
Others will look for a hybrid.
In this excellent article, “The Cryptoeconomy Is Flowering Before Your Eyes,” Jeffrey Tucker suggests that:
Whatever path the regulators choose, it is likely to be akin to the proverbial pounding of the square peg into the round hole. The current regulatory machinery presumes things that are simply untrue about the crypto economy: mediated transactions, relationships built on prior trust, know-your-customer rules, and a permissions-based system of innovation. The cryptoeconomy was born in freedom and wants to stay free, based on the core principles of peer-to-peer exchange.
My approach?
Don’t get worked up by initial moves. Yes, what regulators do will affect us so we have to be cautious, but it’s better to watch the game as an analyst than as a player. You’ll see patterns emerge.
You’ll see what works.
You’ll be able to apply it to your own business and career.

I do.
The rest of the time, watch the regulatory actions worldwide. It’s a free course in how to respond well (or not) to change.
