I was totally like WTF when I saw the very first Altucher email promoting cryptocurrencies because I had been following his stuff for several months and prior to that he had nothing to say on the subject of cryptocurrencies. I immediately said "bullshit" and after clicking through to the sales page lost all respect for him. The whole point of the "newsletter" and "information" was a massive money grab by JA. That first email led to an obvious funnel and over the coming weeks I saw increasing emails, advertisements and promotions - all so obviously geared at getting you into his sales funnel.

He probably made a shit-ton of money with that campaign.

Totally get your point mate, but the sad truth is that's how it is and how things work. As you said we are all emotionally triggered puppets which makes many of us an easy prey for the manipulation.

Im unsure what that could be but you might want to check out Hashgraph if you havent yet. Well, there is a possibility...

Hi. Great article about the marketing side of things. I was wondering if you would share your opinion on the APPICS ? It will be the first SMT on Steem; its run by a marketing company. Do you think they can pull of the app development side of it? There seems a fair bit of hype around the ICO.

I got into money management by reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I even considered going to a workshop or signing up for a coach to learn how to buy all the properties, not that I should, but how to buy them. I signed up for an online class, but they just wanted to have you buy stuff. And I found out from reviews online that their "coaching" was over $10,000!!! I walked away from all that. I do still have the board game though, and it's fun to play once in a while.

That's my little story of getting sucked in. Glad you got your money back.

I had to read it 3 times in order to ensure I wasn't missing something... it made absolutely no sense.

Well, when you hire bad copywriters you get this.

I've talked about psychological triggers in my last post, because I'm a marketer... I'm better than these guys though.

The triggers, they are still the same, BUT as you say ROK people are smartening up.

Form has to be changed... we can no longer tap into the triggers the same way we did.

And that guy looks like a Marketing Dinossaur with this.

My mother already told me as a child to never buy a product that is being advertised. We made a game out of it and it was tough to find the lesser known products.

When I see a funnel page I couldn’t run vomiting fast enough.
