New Marketplace. What do you think?

I am sitting at work and just realised or i might missed a post from someone, but haven't seen anyone talking about it.

Would it be possible to create a marketplace on STEEM? Something like Ebay, Amazon, Gumtree.
I am sure there is plenty people who can offer something of value to others. It could be service, items or whatever you want it to be.
For security there should be an escrow in place to reduce loss and fraudsters.
Rating, feedback system should allow to further reduce people to defraud others.
Use STEEM DOLLARS to complete transactions.
STEEM community is one of the best and growing fast.
If this could work I don't know. Do you think it's possible what's missing?

The easiest market to start would be for non-deliverable goods. Gaming app is the first thing that comes to mind. But definitely, there is a first mover advantage to anyone who's willing to start a marketplace that use Steemdollars.

That's a good point. Taking demographics into account deliverable good could cause a bit of a hassle.

I think that we can make a marketplace using Steem, since the currency already exists. I think that you would need to build a marketplace, with the front end, rating system and escrow.

Where do i begin? i never done anything like it and i cannot program. This work requires the whole team to be successful.

Well, you will need to either learn to code, or find some developers. While I think that project could bring great value to the community, and this point in my life I do not have time.

Do some research, and post on Steem asking for help.

I have a marketplace platform we can use called www.Peerhub.com.... It was my first startup in 2014 to give sellers an option to use Bitcoin. It's on the backburner and not much activity although I do get one signup every week without doing anything... It's not decentralized, but I was actually going to use it for BitCash. We plan to be a 1:1 bridge between SBD and BitCash, but I can just add SBD as an additional option too. I was going to make a few changes and add services to the marketplace.

That look really good, and it is already a working model. Well done. I know they opened market for trading SBD, STEEM. Could you add your marketplace to STEEMIT?
