What is going on today? I believe marriage is one of the most beautiful gifts God has given us, but even though it is meant to be a gift, it can also turn into a curse (if you don't take care of it). Just like a dog can give you lots of joy, the same dog can turn into a nightmare if you don't take care of it and care for it.
God has told us to take care of our spouses and nourish them. Can you imagine your spouse like a plant? What do you need for it to shine and be beautiful? You need to take care of it and water it. Just like that, you also need to take care of your spouse and not neglect them, nor their needs. So, this is the time to pick up your gloves, do some dirty work, and look at what is best for your spouse.
Don't let them come last in the row...
It might seem noble to save the world and create world peace... but is your noble cause causing you to neglect your spouse? Are they at the end of the row, only worth attention if you have time after doing all your other tasks?
