MEN'S RESPONSIBILITY IN MARRIAGE

Marriage in the context of this post is a relationship between a man and woman.
Marriage was instituted by Almighty God for the primary purpose of companionship and procreation.
Although it takes the commitment of both partners for any marriage to thrive, let's take a look at some responsibilities God specifically assigned to men for marriage sustenance; they include
**To Work **
Because marriage is not for children, a man must have something doing, a job or a business that guarantees an income before entering into marriage because the business of marriage is not for idle minds.

The man as part of his responsibility is expected to cultivate the garden (marriage) by encouraging, rendering greater help, sacrificing and committing himself 100% for the marriage.

**Authority to Preside and Administer **

A man who cannot talk or speak maturely, peacefully and make confession over the affairs of his life, is not ready for marriage. Marriage is not for boys but for men. What differentiates men from boys is the way they talk and reason.
In as much as the woman has a level of authority in marriage, the man has the sole responsibility of presiding over his family.

The man is also expected to administer and govern his household with love. He must protect his wife from both internal and external assaults. He must not beat her. He must know what to do under all circumstances and be courageous to do it.

To Teach

The man is the head of the family and must play the role of leading his family to success.
It's rather unfortunate that some men of this age go into marriage expecting their partner to know everything, and end up disappointed which in some cases leads to divorce and other unwanted consequences.
The truth is there is no perfect person anywhere. Willingness to teach and learn is very important for both partners but men are expected to lead by example and teach their partner in love.

**Follow Instructions and Be Humble **

Watch out for signs of pride and arrogance, because they destroy men and marriage. Some school of thought believes the Adam in the Bible was not deceived, rather he wilfully disobeyed God

In conclusion, the business of marriage is a very serious one and God who initiated it cannot be sidelined in its running, He expects that every man should use the authority He gave him properly and keep his marriage and family healthy.
