Who the hell took this photo of the mars rover?

Seriously - I used to work for NASA... I know they air brush shit, but... this was from a "360 degree" view dealy-bobber.

Splain this shit?

And what is this reflection in the lens?

In a hood.
With a bottle of good pinot noir.
Or, holding a cell phone to his ear, your choice. ;-)

The questions that may never be answered...

They don't airbrush shit... mainly, we know this becuase, the RAW image data is available. This is stitched together form a few different images, from the RAW Data was processed by JPL

Mars Panorama - Curiosity rover: Martian solar day 2082 Solar days on MArs are about 22 1/2 minutes longer than on Earth.

🔥 High resolution 360° panorama Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/Andrew Bodrov

This panorama combines 83 exposures taken by the rover's Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) during the Sol 2082 of Curiosity's work on Mars (June 15, 2018)

A Martian dust storm has reduced sunlight and visibility at the rover's location in Gale Crater.

Exposures made with the entire vehicle in view, by what again? A magically levitating camera off board from the vehicle?

And yes, I worked at Marshall Space Flight Center and they absolutely do air brush some photos. I've eaten lunch with people from that department.

The arm has been removed from the image since the 83 images were stitched together, they most likely didn't want it to block the view. There have been other images put out that have removed the arm from the view the past years as well. The arm is attached to the cone looking piece next to the wheel.

makes sense. but rendering the image as if it weren't there makes you wonder what other stuff is fake.
