Hello Steemit!
If my first post is on the Aikido it is for a simple reason: I like bananas... More seriously, it is because I began the martial arts with the Aikido.
It is a martial art of Japanese origin, created by the great Morihei Ueshiba in 20th century. He was inspired by his experience in aikijutsu and kenjutsu. We can notice the very present imprint of the katana in Aikido. Indeed, most of the techniques can be executed with bare hands or katana.
His basic principle is to return the strength of the opponent against itself, by means of projections, rotations or keys. The aikido is one of the only martial arts not teaching attacks. But how overcome his opponent will you tell me. Simple: Run, fast! For real, the aikido aims at reducing the aggressiveness of your opponent by multiple projections or by powerful fixed assets. A good endurance is an advantage in this discipline.
In summary: traditional said Art-Martial, using mainly the movements, the dodges, the keys and the projections. The katana, the stick and the knife are also studied. There are no attacks and consequently no competitions.
Thank you the community, does not hesitate to comment, I am opened to the constructive criticisms :)
And do not forget: "the only fight which is worth being taken away, it is the fight against yourself"
