Martial Arts Began In Africa

Mainstream understanding of hand to hand combat is that martial arts originated somewhere in China.

This has become increasingly incorrect.

The photos are of wall paintings from centuries ago depicting hand to hand combat. Research is showing martial arts originated in Africa, before the Egyptian empire began. Early fighting techniques were cataloged on walls where early hand to hand combat may have been practiced and/or taught. Everything from swords, bow and arrows, and the concept of fortifications like castle walls originated in Africa.

Mystery schools taught early sciences, mathematics, and martial arts. Trade routes could be responsible for spreading knowledge of early hand to hand combat techniques out of Africa.

From Karate in the east to wrestling in the west, and everything in-between, it all began in Africa.
